Supportive treatment. Individualized application.
Cupping therapy uses cups placed on the skin to create suction. At Hands-On Physio, cupping may be considered as an adjunct to physiotherapy based on your symptoms, examination and treatment goals.
Cupping Therapy
Your physiotherapist discusses whether cupping is appropriate for you and explains what to expect. Cups are applied for a selected period and the response is monitored.
Temporary circular marks or bruising-like discoloration are common after cupping and can last for several days. Your physiotherapist can explain expected effects and relevant precautions.
Care built around your goals.
Every treatment is selected in context. Your physiotherapist will discuss whether a particular approach is appropriate for you.
Muscle-focused care
Cupping may be used alongside other techniques when muscular tightness or local discomfort is part of the clinical picture.
Part of a bigger plan
Cupping is not a replacement for assessment, exercise, education or other appropriate rehabilitation strategies.

Pressure can be adjusted during treatment. Tell your physiotherapist if the sensation is uncomfortable or painful.
